ACT full form is American College Testing. It is a standardized test that is required to be taken by students looking for admission in undergraduate schools based in the US and Canada. ACT exam has been developed to evaluate the written, mathematical, verbal and scientific skills of the candidates.
Course Objective
The ACT preparation course objective is to enable the aspiring ACT student to appear for the test with the best of their regular practice. They would learn to:
Write proper answers in the ACT test
Be familiar with the Reading Section of the ACT
Learn test-taking strategies for ACT Exam
Be able to analyze and score results from Practice Sessions of the ACT Exam
Get a better than average score on the Writing Section and Reading Section of the ACT Exam
The topics to be covered for the syllabus of the ACT exam are-
Math- this includes questions on Word Problems, Probability, Geometry, Statistics, data analysis, algebra and functions and advanced math, equations, and calculating mensuration problems. The all-inclusive course evaluates the student’s ability to interpret and analyze quantitative information, solve problems using mathematical models, and apply basic mathematical skills and elementary mathematical concepts of arithmetic.
Reading- it includes questions on Sentence Completion, understanding of passages from the US and world Literature, History/Social Studies, and Sciences. It is a part of the evidence-based Reading and Writing part of the SAT. It has a total of 5 passages each having 10-11 questions and there will be a total of 52 questions in the section. Each question has four answer choices. The ACT prep course for reading comprehension is designed to evaluate candidates’ ability to understand the meaning of different contexts and their associated terms with meaning and to comprehend written text.

Writing and Language-it includes questions on, expression of ideas and standard English topics of understanding through passages related to Careers, History and Social Studies, Humanities, and Sciences. The Writing test is a multiple-choice test where you read the passages and need to find and fix mistakes. The 35 minutes test comprises 4 passages and 44 multiple-choice questions. Each passage can be 400-450 words and has 11 multiple-choice questions. This section is designed to assess the candidate’s understanding of English grammar and vocabulary.
Who can appear for CAT-
- No age limit as per the Eligibility Criteria.
- The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years. But, the previous bachelor’s degree of 2 years will also be accepted if the university is recognised by UGC.
- Candidates in their final year of graduation or awaiting results.
- The percentage of marks obtained is calculated according to the university norms.
- The candidate must have a valid email ID and a phone number for official communications.
